Therefore honor God with your bodies.
Have you ever read about the temples, the dwelling place of God, in the Old Testament? The time, materials, and cost to build these temples were astronomical.
I just heard recently, that the rebuilding of the temple during the days of Ezra and Nehemiah cost king Cyrus over 1 billion dollars! WOW! Are we treating God's temple of the New Testament in a similar way? Lets answer this question by mediating on these: Is Your Appearance Representing God?
- When you look at yourself, the temple, do you see beauty? Do you appreciate the craftsmanship God used to create you?
- Do you take the time to decorate the temple, to show off all it's splendor?
- Do you appear to take care of this temple, loving and honoring it?
- Do you exhibit confidence, power, and authority because of the one living within you?
Don't get me wrong, it's important to eat well and exercise, I should say it's very important! You cannot fulfill all the good works God prepared for you to do if you aren't physically healthy.
However, you won't even come close to doing all God has called you to do if you don't understand how valuable you are! Understand Who You Are! We need to understand who we are, who we were created to be, and Who's we are, and by doing this we can start building a victorious life in Him.
We will be able to accept ourselves and other, love ourselves and others, and go confidently in pursuit of our dreams while encouraging others to do the same.
Shari Braendel of Fashion Meets Faith states, "We care about how we look.
Why is that? Because we're women, and women love to look and feel good.
God made us that way.
God loves beauty.
And He loves you and me, exactly as we were created.
" Lets think about this for a moment: why do we care about the way we look? Why do we want to look and feel good about our appearance? Because God loves beauty, and created us this way! Some of you were just set free! Set free to embrace your beauty instead of fight against it.
Set free to allow your inner beauty to be reflected on the outside.
Second Corinthians 5:20 states we are Christ's ambassadors! We are God's representative, and God uses us to reconcile a lost world to himself.
Why would anyone want to be reconcile to a God that exhibits doubt, distrust, weakness, and defeat.
Why are we not impacting the world for good, and bringing God's kingdom to earth? WE DO NOT KNOW WHO WE ARE! You were created to be beautiful and exhibit confidence, power, and authority.
How you dress and feel about yourself is important! Give yourself permission to invest in yourself today, and to create a beautiful temple! God thinks your worth it, you should too!
