It may be time to remove some clutter and clean house.
Not our house we live in but our bodies and minds that Christ should be living in.
Just as we can't move around to well in a cluttered house, God can't move us very well when our minds and lives are cluttered.
We need to take time alone with God to determine what things could be blocking us from doing what we need to be doing.
If we are so absorbed in our life and our problems, we easily get distracted and can't life on purpose for God.
What are the obvious things that you need to change in your life? Could there by obstacles so big you can't even see them? Are there any obsessions you need to get rid of? Before we are able to clearly see the opportunities, we need to remove the barriers in our life that may be the obvious, the obstacles and the obsessions.
Luke 11:24-28 "When an evil spirit leaves a person, it goes into the desert, searching for rest.
But when it finds none, it says, 'I will return to the person I came from.
' So it returns and finds that its former home is all swept and in order.
Then the spirit finds seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they all enter the person and live there.
And so that person is worse off than before.
" As he was speaking, a woman in the crowd called out, "God bless your mother-the womb from which you came, and the breasts that nursed you!" Jesus replied, "But even more blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice.
" We may have a relationship with someone that is not where it should be either because of something they did or something we did.
We could be so far in debt that money consumes our thoughts.
We could be eating unhealthy and not getting the exercise our body needs because we are so busy with other things all day.
Our job may keep us so busy that we come home frazzled and irritated every day.
Or we could be living for ourselves rather than God because we don't have that one-on-one relationship with him.
Once we spend time with God reading his word and talking with him, we will begin to see the obvious, the obstacles and the obsessions.
He will help us identify and get rid of them.
He will put before us his opportunities for us to serve and he will begin to bless our lives so that we can become a blessing to others giving him all the glory.
Once we clean house, we don't need to leave it empty, we need to fill it with God's word so that when the clutter returns we will know better what to do with it.
Jesus replied, "But even more blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice.
